The Journey to Redemption
The season of Lent beings on Ash Wednesday (Feb. 17). Traditionally, this is the time when Christians enter into a period of preparation in anticipation of the events of Holy Week culminating in the crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus Christ, our Lord.
Throughout this time of isolation over the past year, we have all had to learn to adapt to new rhythms for maintaining routines for daily devotions, prayer, and fellowship. This will also be true for Lent as we will not have the 40 days of prayer booklets this year as we have had in the past. I would like to encourage you to take part in Lent using whatever resource you find meaningful and appropriate. But if you do not have something set up already, I would like to suggest you consider using the reading plan; Lent Journey - 2016. Instructions for joining this plan are found below.
It is my prayer that you will be strengthened and encouraged as we journey through Lent in preparation for the great miracle of the resurrection — and the remarkable act of redemption God initiated for all of us.
