Worship “Online” goes “Landline”

Changes to our Sunday Morning worship access.

Since our Sunday morning worship services were suspended in March, we have been working hard to make our services as accessible as possible. This has included a number of avenues:

  • Streaming live from the web page

  • Streaming live on Facebook

  • DVDs delivered to people’s homes

  • Printed copies of the sermons delivered to people’s homes

The biggest challenge so far has been providing a Sunday morning worship experience for people who do not have Internet access. But that is about to change.

Using our G-Suite subscription, I have been experimenting with ways to share the service on Sunday morning by telephone using Google Meet (similar to Zoom). The sound quality isn’t perfect, but it works for anyone who is interested in being part of the worship service when it goes live at 10:02 on Sunday morning.

If you know someone who would like to listen to the worship service on their telephone on Sunday morning, please call the office and let us know. Also, if you are willing to organize a regular Google Meet for worship on Sunday mornings, please contact Pastor Jonathan to get set up with this technology.

Thanks to everyone who is already reaching out to support our most vulnerable members via telephone calls. I hope this will help expand our capacity to continue meeting people’s needs for connecting with our worshipping community.
